Welcome to Hippocreta, a family-run natural cosmetics brand born on the island of Crete in Greece. My name is Maria Paximadi, and in 2012 I turned a lifelong love for botanicals into a small business with a big heart.

How Our Story Began

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by plants and their properties. I spent years reading, researching and experimenting with herbs, oils and natural extracts found across Crete. At first, I created creams and oils for myself, simple, honest formulas made with ingredients sourced from the island.

When I shared them with family and friends, something beautiful happened, they loved them. They told me they preferred them over the products they had always used. Their encouragement is what transformed a personal passion into what is now Hippocreta.

Handmade With Care, From Crete

Every product we offer, from creams and oils to soaps, candles and more is handmade in small batches using local resources from Crete. Handmade production allows us to maintain exceptional quality and freshness, even though it means large batches aren’t possible. We believe good things take time.

We are proud to use natural ingredients only, without synthetic chemicals or harmful additives. Our products are also cruelty-free, because beauty should never come at the expense of animals.

A Business Rooted in Tradition and Trust

For many years, our soaps and creams were sold exclusively through our local shops in Crete. We met countless customers who discovered our products while visiting the island and continued to return year after year. Their loyalty and love for our creations helped shape the reputation we have today.
